As recording artiste G33ZZ (formerly German Gs) remains committed to showing his versatility, his latest track - Wave State - has resonated with a vast demographic.

" Wave State is a movement song; it's a feel-good song ... a song for the dancers. It's doing well, so far, because I have people from all over the world dancing to it, mainly in Europe," the entertainer said of the Slone Music produced track. Although the singer and deejay always had an interest in music, he managed to excel in subjects such as English A, and English literature. He also loved integrated science and human and social biology. The recording artiste's father also sang. However, it wasn't until he had a firsthand experience inside a professional recording studio that he realised that the craft was his calling.

"I used to always listen to music, from a young age. I spent most of my time listening to music. I really started the journey when Toots' (Hibbert's) grandson brought me to the studio and I liked the vibe, and when I went into the booth and did something, it just came naturally. So, from then he said, 'It looks like you have a knack for it, so just gwaan write and practise'," G33ZZ recalled.

He has been in the industry for the past 10 years and has released several tracks including Chalk Out, Speed Trap (featuring Maxxjetblac), and 2 AM. He has experimented with several genres including Afrobeats and R&B, reiterating that he is not limited. The entertainer is eyeing collaborations with seasoned artistes such as Masicka, Skillibeng, Vybz Kartel, and Chronic Law. On an international level, Kendrick Lamar is among his top picks.

As he builds a more successful career under Wavestate Entertainment, the artiste is encouraging emerging acts to remain diligent.

"It starts with self-belief. You have to believe in yourself. Once you make up your mind that this is what you want to do, do what you need to do. Learn the industry and practise. Once you believe in yourself, nobody can stop you," G33ZZ said.
