Sister bribing me to keep her love life secret

Dear Pastor,

I am 17 years old and I have a problem that is on my mind. I have a sister and one brother.

My parents went away for two weeks and left us at the house. My sister always pushed me around and my parents told me I should listen to her because she is older. My brother used to come in late but he did not give us any trouble. My sister has a boyfriend and we all know him and accepted him as one of us. He used to come to the house, but, after a certain hour, he would leave.

One night I was sleeping in my parents' room. I got up to go to the bathroom and there was no light in my sister's room. She and I shared that room. I peeped inside and I saw that the door to the back was slightly opened, so I wondered how come my sister left it open. I went into the room and I saw my sister and a man having sex on the back porch. This man was not her boyfriend. I stood there and I was afraid to walk away because I did not want them to hear me. I did not recognise who the guy was because he was on top of my sister. Then he turned my sister over and entered her from the back. I could not believe it. I quietly went back to my mother's room and I heard when my sister came back into her room and close the door. She went into the bathroom and cleaned herself up.

I went to my sister after she came out of the bathroom and I asked her who was the guy she was having sex with. She said I must have been dreaming. I told her that I was not. She begged me not to say anything to our parents. I asked her if she did not feel afraid. Suppose our brother had seen her out there having sex? She told me that this man always liked her, but they never had the chance to have sex, so she took the chance that night. I can't have a sweeter sister these days. She does not push me around anymore, and we talk things about life that she never talked to me about before.

My big problem is that her boyfriend comes to see her and she carries on with him as if she is so innocent and will never cheat on him. I do not intend to tell anybody about what I saw. Since my sister knew that I saw her having sex with a guy who is not her boyfriend, she has bought me a lovely dress and a pair of new shoes. She said she got the money from the guy I saw her having sex with. I love the shoes and the dress but I know that she has bought my silence.

Whether she has bought your silence or not, you have promised that you would not let her down and report her to your parents.

She expects you to keep your word. That is what I would suggest you do. However, you are not too young to tell your sister that she should be true to her boyfriend.
